Objective

Objective

To examine the relationship between oral temperature and axilla temperature

Define the variables as an interval or ratio data.

To state our research hypothesis

Select sample

Use SPSS to prove our study

Analyse the collected data according to the data type

state the conclude of study

Identify problems face during study

,7:07 PM
Get it right

Research question :
Is a person’s oral temperature related to the axilla temperature?

Why we choose this topic : It is interesting to know that after the SARS incidence that strike Singapore, temperature has been one of the most important indicator to notify individual health status. By choosing this topic, we are curious to find out whether the axilla or oral temperature is more accurate and if there is a vast difference.

Hypothesis : There is a relationship between a person's oral temperature and axilla temperature.

Null hypothesis : there is NO relationship a person's oral temperature and axilla temperature.

Variables
Independent : route
Dependent : Temperature

Extraneous : exercise, age , race

Conceptualisation
Measured by degrees Celcius

Operationalisation
Battery operated Thermometer

Ethics
Informed consent
- Subject selection is described
- Purpose of study is described

Autonomy
Independence – Have the right to reject participants

Sensitivity
Topics chosen requires minimal exposure

Confidentiality
Ensuring participants particular and data are kept confidential. Only researcher knows

Sample Group:

Our targetted sample are from Nursing regardless which group
and we did purposive sampling that is to have 15 males and 15 females as our subject.
This is so to make our task simple upon consolidation.

,7:07 PM
our NEED

These are all the essential stuffs we need to record down our finding and start off our mission!

We needed thermometer as a form of instrument, pen and paper to record the findings and camera to act as evidence.

,7:06 PM
PHOTO TIME!

We finally got the students to do us a BIG favour by
taking afew minutes of their time to tak temperature of both
axillia and mouth.

Shy to show their faces!

CONSOLIDATION of results

Fun Fun and more Fun ...

,7:00 PM
process

To approach people and taking their time to wait and take their temperature wasnt an easy task. Of course we do face rejections. Like some, they don't want their photos to be taken. So we respect thier decision and not force.

After getting 30 results, we settled down and look out for the pattern before proceeding to trasnfer on SPSS.

,6:59 PM
Data

Here's the data! =)
After getting 30 people, Its time for a break!
We shall analyse them using SPSS to conclude if there is
relationship between the two route.

This is My variable view
Number of respondents.
15 males, 15 females
Oral temperature

Armpit Temperature
Skewness for both is .427 which is positively skewed therefore its not a normal distributionThis table shows the strenght of the relationship
Therefore in this table we can conclude that Cramer's V = 0.695, P = 0.70, N=929

Therefore there is a strong relationship between oral temperature and axilla temperature .
since the P value is > 0.5 , we can accept the Ho hypothesis and reject H1

Pearson's Correlation Coefficient

Therefore this graph indicates positive relationship due to coefficient o.6 which is closer to +1.0

From the table, Pearson's correlation coefficient of 0.664 indicates a strong relationship between oral temperature and armpit temperature

Reflections

Fadhil :

I really think this project is time consuming but getting together really make time past by fast. Overall, i do enjoy the whole process! Go group members!

Farah :

Finally its over! I hope we are on the right track. I love the song by the way!

Zeehan :

We really got rejected to certain extend, honestly, it wasnt easy!

NurHafizah :

I wonder how those surveyors do their calculations. Anyway, its an intersting experience!
loves.

Nadhirah :

ITS OVER!! yaaaaay..... Good luck group members! We can do it...!

,5:24 PM
Conclusion

After the whole process we decide to conclude that there is a relationship between oral temperature and axilla temperature. This may be affect by extraneous factors and also from the statistics we can say that oral temperature is slightly higher than axilla temperature.
